The authentic flavor of Porcini mushrooms is especially popular in Italian cooking which are added to pasta, risotto, pizza and much more
Porcini is one of the finest mushrooms around and exceptionally delicious, strongly flavored with subtle undertones that can be almost addicting.
Instructions:
Immerse the dry porcini mushrooms in a bowl of lukewarm water for 40 minutes to revive it. The water must be lukewarm and not hot.
Mushrooms tend to lose texture and flavour when boiling water is used. At the end of the soaking process, gently rinse mushrooms under running water and squeeze excess water out.
The mushrooms are now ready to be cooked.
Tip:
Do not throw away the water that you used to soak the mushrooms. Instead, filter it in order to eliminate the impurities. The water now rich in flavour can be used to spruce up any pasta dish instead of plain water.
